Tania Sánchez Andrade

Tania has worked for over a decade as a practitioner and advocate in the field of transparency, access to information and accountability. Before her last assignment, as head of the international affairs department of the Mexican Federal Institute of Access to Information and Data Protection (IFAI), she was a consultant producing reports on access to information, networking, and knowledge management for the World Bank, the Organization of American State’s Special Rapporteurship for Freedom of Expression, and Article XIX, among other organizations. Tania also worked with the International Budget Partnership to coordinate the Budget Transparency, Accountability and Participation Global Assembly in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, in November 2011. In Mexico, working with Fundar from 2004 to 2007, she was one of the founders of the Transparency Collective and its first coordinator. Currently, she is tasked with the promotion and curation of the Open Government Guide.

Tania holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a bachelor degree in International Relations from El Colegio de Mexico.
