Erik Waddell

With a decade of experience at senior levels in the Canadian federal government, as well as two years working as a private-sector consultant, Erik Waddell has provided professional policy analysis and advice on key government issues including open government, regulatory reform, IT and telecommunications policy, foreign investment regulations, and government procurement.

Erik has also worked as a senior media and communications professional, in both the public and private sectors. This experience has helped provide him with unique insight into the development and communication of key policy initiatives.

Erik was involved in the drafting of both Canada’s first and second Open Government Action Plans for the OGP. Open government in particular has become a passion of his, which serves him well in his current role as a senior policy advisor in Canada’s Open Government Secretariat.
