[email protected]Mathilde supports European countries in advancing transparency, public participation, and accountability in democratic governance. Leading OGP’s engagement in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria, she provides governments and civil society organizations with strategic analysis, recommendations, and peer learning opportunities to shape national reforms and multilateral initiatives.
Mathilde joined the OGP support unit in March 2025, bringing a rich background in policy and research. For over seven years in the French government, she served as a diplomat and policy lead, including as coordinator of France’s interministerial taskforce on the Sustainable Development Goals, sherpa in the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 development agenda, and advisor on EU and global affairs to French Minister for Ecology and Energy. She collaborated with several think tanks, such as ECDPM, Convergences, and Terra Nova, where she headed the Europe Program. Beginning in 2015, she led the World Resources Institute’s global research and technical assistance on democratic innovation and just transition, guiding governments, development banks, and NGOs in strengthening public participation and social equity in climate policy planning. Between 2021 and 2023, she was also the Open Government advocacy lead for Démocratie Ouverte, representing French civil society in OGP processes.
Mathilde holds master’s degrees in international relations, diplomacy, and law from the College of Europe, the Sorbonne, and Paris Panthéon-Assas University.
