Netherlands Mid-Term Report 2016-2018 – For Public Comment

The report covers the implementation of the action plan from January 2016 through September 2017.

Fiindings from the IRM researcher Caroline Raat, are summarized below:

“The second action plan primarily includes commitments on open dataBy opening up data and making it sharable and reusable, governments can enable informed debate, better decision making, and the development of innovative new services. Moving forward, the next action plan needs to address several stakeholder priorities, such as the new Freedom of Information Act and transparencyAccording to OGP’s Articles of Governance, transparency occurs when “government-held information (including on activities and decisions) is open, comprehensive, timely, freely available to the pub... “Het tweede Nederlandse actieplan bevat vooral actiepunten over open data. Hoewel meer dan de helft van actiepunten substantieel was voltooid, waren ze niet ambitieus genoeg. Voor de toekomst moeten in het volgende actieplan de prioriteiten van belanghebbenden worden opgepakt, zoals de Woo en UBO-transparantie.”
