10 World Leaders Speaking at #OGPatUN
Nine heads of state or government will speak at the United Nations in New York on September 24, 2014 to mark OGP’s third anniversary (hashtag: #OGPatUN).
Entitled, Open Government Partnership: Citizen Action, Responsive Government, the event will:
- Present the first annual Open Government Awards to recognize innovative projects that have found bold and creative ways to engage citizens in designing and/or influencing the design and implementation of public policy and services with the ultimate goal of making government more open, responsive and accountable to citizens’ needs (hashtag: #OpenGovAwards).
- Showcase and build momentum behind powerful initiatives in new country action plans to advance open government; and
- Articulate why and illustrate how government-civil society cooperation is essential for advancing human development.
