MEDIA BRIEFING: Government of Georgia & Mukelani Dimba Elected as the Next Support Co-chairs on the OGP Steering Committee

Cape Town, South Africa, May 4, 2016- The Steering Committee of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) today elected the government of Georgia and Mukelani Dimba, Executive Director of the Open Democracy Advice Centre (ODAC), to be the next government and civil society support co-chairs. They will assume their roles on October 1, 2016, when current lead co-chairs, the government of South Africa and Alejandro Gonzalez Arreola, Executive Director, Gestión Social y Cooperación A.C. (GESOC) step down. At that time, the current support co-chairs, the government of France and Manish Bapna, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, World Resources Institute (WRI), will become lead co-chairs.
