José María joined the OGP in July 2020 as a Senior Program Officer for the Local Program to support national-local integration, enhance subnational participation in OGP and improve knowledge and learning opportunities for open government reformers. Previously, he has worked at Transparency International (Germany), Fundar, Centro de Análisis e Investigación (Mexico) and the International Budget Partnership (USA) managing projects and carrying out research, policy analysis and advocacy in the field of public sector transparency, anti-corruption, participation and accountability.

José María studied Public Policy and Administration (MA) at the London School of Economics in the UK, Economics (MA) at Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Chile and Business Administration and Economics (BA) at American University in the USA.

José María is based in Berlin.
