Brazil’s Open Government Journey
As a founding member of OGP, Brazil has long been a leader in open government. In this report, learn how the national government and OGP Local members have advanced open government reform since 2011.
Quito joined OGP as part of the 2020 cohort. They are currently implementing five commitments from their 2022-2023 action plan.
This action plan features commitments related to enhancing the levels of participation and incidence in local decision-making, implementation of the international parameters of Open Parliament, and promoting local economic development processes among others.

On October 10-14, the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) held its 7th World Congress in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. The Congress brought together representatives from local, regional, and national governments, civil society, academia and the international community to reflect on the current context and the role of local and regional governments in facing the challenges affecting their communities.
