Finland End-of-Term Report 2015-2017 – For Public Comment

The report covers the implementation of the action plan from July 2015 through June 2017.
In Finland, findings from the IRM researcher Daria Pritup, are summarized below:
“Finland made progress in clarifying service delivery information, making budget data more accessible and broadening civic participation. Although all commitments were substantially completed, they have led to only marginal improvements in government transparencyAccording to OGP’s Articles of Governance, transparency occurs when “government-held information (including on activities and decisions) is open, comprehensive, timely, freely available to the pub... More and civic engagement.”
And in Finnish:
“Suomi on edistynyt palveluntarjontaa koskevien tietojen selkeyttämisessä: budjettitietojen saatavuutta ja kansalaisten osallistumismahdollisuuksia on parannettu. Kaikki sitoumukset toteutettiin merkittäviltä osin, mutta niillä on ollut vain vähäinen vaikutus hallinnon avoimuuden ja kansalaisten osallistumismahdollisuuksien parantamiseen.”
At this time, the public is invited to provide comments on the report. The two-week public comment period closed Tuesday, 8 May 2018.
