AMAC during the implementation of its first action plan constituted a steering committee that had equal representatives from members of civil societies and AMAC. A workshop was organized for AMAC OGP steering committee members to develop OGP local Action Plan II from the existing foundation of Action Plan I that ensures the continuity of strategies and activities that will be executed in the implementation of the AMAC OGP commitment. The workshop had facilitators from Open Contracting Partnership (OCP), OGP secretariat, FollowTaxes, and participants from AMAC, DEAN Initiative, Africa Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), Connected Development (CODE), BudgIt Nigeria, Action Aid Nigeria, Accountability Lab (AL) and the Media. The workshop was hosted by AMAC and funded by the HEDA Resource Centre.

The forum has an equal number of members of CSOs and the council, in addition, due to the goal of the action plan, members of women in business were invited to join the forum.

An interview was carried out by a member of the secretariat with the members of women in business to understand their challenges in bidding for contracts in the council.

Regularly meetings were held to discuss the implementation of the action plan, and the creation of the milestones and timelines.

After the workshop, the steering committee endorsed the action plan 2.

The local OGP activities were incorporated into the council website but currently, the website is down / not functioning due to administrative issues.

A survey was done before the creation of the action plan to get stakeholders’ views action the issue they want the council to address, the result of the survey analysis resulted in the thematics agreed by the steering committee to be the goal for our second action plan

We had engagement with key stakeholders to get their feedback on the implementation of the action plan.

The digitalization process might be challenging due to the lack of digital skills needed by the staff of the council but the steering committee has a plan to train staff on digital skills.
