Facebook Live: The OGP Toolbox
Information session and Q&A about the OGP Toolbox with Paula Forteza
Location: OGP Facebook Page
Date: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 – 11:00 – 12:00 EDT (17:00 – 18:00 CET)
Information:
Launched to great fanfare at the 2016 Open Government Partnership Summit in Paris, the OGP Toolbox is the result of a series of hackathons, sprints and workshops conducted in both the United States and France.
The Toolbox aims at facilitating the implementation of commitments made by governments in their National Action Plans (NAP) and encouraging cooperation and resource sharing among OGP participants (current and/or aspiring). It acts as a catalogue of open government solutions, complete with use cases and methods. Here’s a preview of some of the exciting tools already featured in the Toolbox:
- FixMyStreet Brussels – a map-based website and app that helps people in Brussels inform their local authority of problems needing their attention, such as potholes and broken street lamps
- GovTrack.us – tracks the United States Congress and helps Americans understand what is going on in their national legislature
- Mzalendo – promotes greater public voice and enhances public participation in politics by providing relevant information about the Kenyan National Assembly and Senate’s activities
Using Facebook Live streamed from the OGP Facebook Page, the Etalab team provided an overview of the current Toolbox and responded to follow-up questions.
Session Moderator – Paula Forteza: Paula Forteza works at Etalab, the French Prime Minister’s taskforce for Open Data, Open Government and Data Science.
