OGP Local Circle on Climate Action Meeting

Join OGP, the Scottish Government, and the city of Buenos Aires for the first meeting of the OGP Local Circle on Climate Action on April 13.

OGP Local Circle on Climate Action is a recently established working group that gathers local governments, national governments, civil society, and other organizations willing to step up the game in the climate action agenda by implementing open government principles.

In this meeting hosted by the Scottish government (UK) and the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina) we will discuss how to strengthen democracy and accelerate climate action through citizen participation.

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English and Spanish.

The purpose of this meeting is:

  • to provide an opportunity for OGP members and civil society organization to share learning and to set out what would be useful for the Climate Action Network to deliver
  • to highlight the value of applying Open Government principles of transparency, accountability and public involvement to support climate action
  • to provide an introduction from the perspectives of three OGP members, Buenos Aires, Scotland and Estonia to highlight how they are tackling climate action
  • to identify practical steps that civil society organizations can take to promote climate action through OGP processes
