Commitment Title
Creation of the Asturian Participation Council
Problem
Once the Asturian government is committed to the implementation of the Asturian Participation Law, it is necessary to put into operation an Autonomous Participation Council, as an instrument that guarantees the application of the Law and as a consultative body for the improvement of policies regarding citizen participation.
Status quo
Currently there is no body that can carry out civil functions in terms of participation, so all development in terms of transparency and citizen participation is referred solely to government action.
Action
The creation of an Asturian Participation Council implies integrating the different agents of civil society in our land into a body that is capable of working in coordination with the public administration. It is about establishing levels of consultation and agreement with Asturian society to generate consensus actions that allow establishing high-level democratic policies.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
This specific commitment helps to solve a lack of the Asturian Government with respect to civil participation bodies. With the implementation of this council, democratic quality is improved.
