Commitment Title
Opening of data on access to LGBTQ community rights
Problem
There is currently no published information on diversity. This leads to invisible problems that require concrete data to improve the planning of public policies that are carried out, and on the other hand, to the fact that civil society organizations do not have data to be able to carry out analysis and advocacy. Likewise, this negatively affects the visibility of the LGBTQ community.
On the other hand, there are few instances of participation for the community, and many groups do not have access to those that are carried out.
Status quo
The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has a General Directorate for Coexistence in Diversity from which different public policies related to the LGBTQ community are promoted. Among the different actions, they collect and have data regarding the policies that are carried out, which serve as the basis for the elaboration of public policies based on evidence. However, this data is not yet published.
Action
A survey of the information to be published will be carried out together with the areas that produce the information in order to collect data, and begin to generate the conditions for the generation of new data.
It will work in a participatory process together with organizations of the LGTBIQ community to identify obstacles in access to rights.
The data collected will be published and communicated.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
From the publication of information, it will be possible to increase the visibility of the community, and it will be possible to have more data for the analysis and improvement of public policies. On the other hand, the participatory process will seek to improve access to people's rights.
What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?
One of the objectives of the Open Government Strategic Vision is to generate commitments related to vulnerable populations. In this sense, this commitment will allow us to reach a community with which we have never worked from an open government perspective, and will seek to improve their access to rights.
