Description

What is the public problem being addressed by the measure? Insufficient citizen participation in open data policy, as well as in the prioritization of new datasets of high value for publication on the open data portal in an open format

What does the measure consist of? The purpose of the measure is to periodically study the needs of citizens and businesses for publishing information from the public sector in an open format. To define specific high-value datasets that fall into the thematic categories included in the Annex to the Open Data Directive (geospatial, earth and environment observation, meteorology, statistics, ownership of companies and businesses, mobility), based on of an interactive process involving multiple cycles and the inclusion of specific datasets from the DCAT-AP topics (a common vocabulary for harmonizing dataset descriptions initiated by the European Commission in order to realize a common vision for European data portals), which are important with a view to adopting a European approach, as well as data related to the national specificity of Bulgaria. To expand the range of entities involved in determining the priority topics of information from the public sector for publication in an open format and to promote the open data policy and the role of the MEG in its implementation.

How will the implementation of the measure contribute to solving the problem? Civil organizations will be actively involved at all stages, including planning, implementation and monitoring. The focus of published data will change, emphasizing the needs of users
