Description
What is the public problem that the commitment will address? The Ministry has noted a scant understanding among citizens of the workings of the justice system and a lack of knowledge about its organisation, despite the modernisation of the institution and its efforts to strengthen the link between citizens and the justice system.
What is the commitment? Involve civil society in Ministry of Justice projects so as to take into account the needs of users when implementing services and give citizens a clearer insight into how the justice system works.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem? The commitment is intended to step up reviews of discussions between the Ministry of Justice and users: Plan consultations with citizens as part of the Etats généraux de la justice conferences Promote user-centric procedures in the creation of Ministry projects, as is already partly the case: o Assessment of user needs for the redesign of justice.gouv.fr (citizen user surveys, new upcoming surveys for targeted sections of the public for assessing needs). The purpose of these consultations is to understand the general public’s information needs and the ways in which they keep themselves informed. User testing is systematically carried out to assess the degree to which websites meet the needs of users. o The Portalis Community. 102 o Community for “stakeholders of digital criminal proceedings”. Routinely implement initiatives to obtain citizen feedback, including as part of the interministerial framework – Transparency programme, Services Publics +: o The “Give your opinion” button o Online satisfaction and general surveys across all justice networks: in courts, as well as prisons, institutions and departments for the judicial protection of young people (PJJ) in the public sector and approved non-profit sector, legal advice centres, etc. Promote open innovation methodology: o Launch of an innovation lab
Why is this commitment relevant to OGP values? Transparent public policy: This commitment improves the quality of the information disclosed and its accessibility by taking user feedback on board Civic participation: This commitment creates opportunities for discussion with the public and an environment conducive to civil society. Further information In tandem with the Transparency programme, Services Publics +
