Description

Problem to be addressed

● To combat the abuse of electronic platforms to misinform and disinform the public.

The commitment

 The commitment is in two-fold: 1. Implement structures to combat Misinformation / Disinformation on digital platforms. 2. Strengthen the provisions in the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 and the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 to deter misinformation and disinformation on digital platforms.

● Commitment will make accessible to citizens only credible and verified information on public electronic portals.
