Commitment Title
Establish an entrepreneurship center to promote entrepreneurship and innovation
Problem
Lack of opportunities to establish innovative ventures in the province. The residents mostly depend on public employment or migrate to other provinces. When attempting to start a business, there is insufficient support for producers in the processes of formalization, health registrations, and other necessary actions.
Status quo
Commercialization: Strengthen productive ventures, fairs/exhibitions of local products, capacity building for associations, public training, and Local Development Centers.
Productive Development: Promote traditional crops (without tech development), field schools, technical assistance to associations, provision of quality forest/fruit/ornamental plants, strengthening "papa china" production/commercialization, promoting alternative crops (and their value chains), certifying alternative sectors, providing biological inputs, improving livestock (bovine/pork) genetics, veterinary emergency response, livestock fairs, animal health care (pigs/sheep/goats), strengthening fish farming (fingerlings), creating a nationalities table and productive model, promoting tourism/gastronomy, supporting tourism promoters, ordinances for festivities, use of tourism brand/table, improving irrigation/drainage, building infrastructure, implementing sugarcane plots, and complementing agricultural infrastructure.
Action
Develop an entrepreneurship center to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
The entrepreneurship and innovation center should be a collaborative space between the GADP, the private sector, and universities. Training will be provided to entrepreneurs on marketing, logistics, financing, and other topics. Internship networks will be established with universities so that their students can participate in designing business models. Additionally, the center will have an innovative approach, prioritizing the creation of ventures focused on topics such as community-based scientific tourism and local, sustainable agriculture programs.
What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?
This commitment is related to the following objective:
Transform Pastaza into a province that combines transparency, inclusion, and sustainability as central pillars of its development, strengthening citizen participation and the use of technology to achieve more effective and democratic governance. This approach will not only address the current needs of the population but also build a management model that is replicable and adaptable to future challenges.
