Commitment Title
Strengthening and expansion of the itinerant justice and access to justice programme "Caravanas por la Justicia Cotidiana" (Caravans for Everyday Justice).
Problem
The regulations are unclear and generate confusion and inaccuracies when carrying out procedures. There is a lack of public officials with the appropriate profiles and professionalism to provide a service that expedites procedures. Corrupt practices are also a factor that causes delays and a high cost of access to justice, in addition to budgetary and training barriers to implement the use of technologies that contribute to streamlining processes.
Status quo
Currently, citizens are faced with lengthy processes and excessive bureaucracy in the resolution of conflicts, remoteness from institutions, as well as high costs of procedures and services for society in general and mainly for members of vulnerable groups, caused by the excessive requirements requested by institutions, makes access to justice and legal security impossible.
Action
Strengthen the programme of Caravans for Everyday Justice, in order to have a wider coverage of the localities and municipalities visited. This programme will also increase the frequency, dissemination and participation of institutions, and increase the number of procedures and services provided through the programme. This will be achieved by simplifying and bringing procedures closer together.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
Carry out actions to reduce and simplify procedures and services, bringing them closer to remote and hard-to-reach communities.
Streamline formalities and reduce the requirements during the procedures that people must follow to access justice.
Simplifying procedures and eliminating unnecessary requirements facilitates access to justice.
Having trained personnel with a humanistic sense and a vocation for service, speed, warmth, quality and efficiency of public service to the population is fundamental in itinerant justice, bringing procedures and services to the most remote places.
What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?
Reducing legal marginalisation in the State of Mexico.
