Here’s our monthly roundup of updates from the OGP Local community for March 2023.
ACTION PLAN
- Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Ecuador carried out the first meeting of the multi-stakeholder forum to co-create their second OGP action plan.
- Check out Nuevo Leon, Mexico’s Action Plan 2022-2024 in this video presentation.
- Yucatan, Mexico held a workshop to raise awareness of open government to co-create its first action plan.
- Bogota, Colombia held a discussion on the role of open data on Open Data Day.
ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
- Proactive Transparency in Peñalolen, Chile, shared important data and research on gender equity, including key activities organized for the International Women’s Day and a calendar with other relevant dates.
- OGP Local met government points of contact from the Ukrainian cities of Ternopil, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi.
- The Beni Mellal-Khenifra region of Morocco hosted a workshop to prepare their Open Region Program.
- The Niger Delta Open Government Observatory organized a peer exchange event where Follow Taxes shared their experience on implementing open government in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
- The Government of Aragón is supporting the third edition of Fundamentals of Open Government, a dynamic learning experience coordinated with the Spanish National School of Public Administration.
- Explore how Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Ghana partnered with Friends of the Nation to promote transparency and accountability.
- The Citizen Observatory of the Judicial Branch of the State of Querétaro, México held its first ordinary public session, where the members and the sectors they represent were introduced.
- The National Democractic Institute launched the Local Government Gender Assessment and Action Planning (LGGAAP) Implementation Guide, a great tool to assess how well a local government addresses gender inequality and engages with diverse groups of women. Ozurgeti, Georgia participated in the launch as this program pilots LGGAAP implementation in the jurisdiction.

- Scotland is looking to improve their Citizen´s Participation Framework and is calling for those interested to join their workshops.
- Open Contracting Partnership launched a new generation of its impact accelerator program called Lift to help teams of procurement reformers achieve reforms. Apply before May 5!
