In early December, OGP Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Pradhan and members of the OGP team met with high-level government officials and civil society members in Estonia and Latvia to discuss their open government successes and next steps in their democracy journey.
The two Baltic countries have been regional front-runners of democratic transitions and open government reform, including through their anti-corruption and civic engagement work.
Latvia and Estonia have been part of the Partnership since 2011.
- During the Latvian visit, the OGP team met with the Latvian Prime Minister, the Director of the Chancellery and his team, line ministry and agency representatives implementing the current OGP Action Plan and working on the next one, parliamentarians and civil society reformers.
- During the Estonian visit, the OGP team met with the Minister for Public Administration, the Secretary of State, the Parliament’s Anti-Corruption Select Committee, the OGP Multi-Stakeholder Forum, City of Tallinn officials, and civil society reformers.
OGP CEO Sanjay Pradhan gave two public lectures during the visit to inspire open government reformers and demonstrate how citizens can influence their government beyond the ballot box.
