Antoine MICHON was born on August 14th, 1973 and is a career diplomat.
He graduated from Institut d’Etudes Politiques and Ecole Nationale d’Administration before joining the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001. He has held various positions within the Quai d’Orsay, dealing with bilateral relations with South America and EU development policy towards Africa.
He served at the State Department in 2005 at the Haïti desk as an exchange diplomat within the transatlantic partnership program. He was then posted at the French Embassy in Washington where he was in charge of US politics.
From 2009 until 2013 he was Consul General in Cape Town, South Africa.
Since September 2013, he has been in charge of the Environment and Climate Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one of the member of the COP21 Presidency team.
