Miren Martiarena Barkaiztegi
Open Government Director, Basque Government
Miren Martiarena Barkaiztegi is the Open Government Director at the Government of the Basque Country since April 2021. She has also more than 12 years’ experience in local- municipality level policies practice.
She promotes public policies, channels and actions to strengthen transparency and citizen participation, as well as the management of public transparency and Irekia-Open Government platforms and portals. Promotes the use of Social Networks and participatory processes throughout the Government. Manages and coordinates the exercise of the citizen’s right of access to public information. She is also the President of the Basque Commission for Access to Public Information.
Miren coordinates commitments and inter-institutional participation in matters of open government through OGP Local with OGP Euskadi-Basque Country.
