Sarita Ranchod
Sarita Ranchod currently works with the OGP Civil Society Coordination Team developing knowledge and learning resources that capture experiences and lessons learned, and documenting good practices for knowledge sharing. Her areas of specialisation include investigative, evaluative and policy research; developing learning and knowledge resources; using communications technologies strategically for innovation and social change; and specialist writing and editing. She is Executive Director of Under the Rainbow – Creative Strategies for Positive Change, an international development practice based in South Africa. Her work is underpinned by a commitment to creating a just and inclusive society.
She has worked for and with several international development agencies including UNDP, CIDA, Hivos and GIZ on local and global assignments. She taught in the Journalism and Media Studies department at Rhodes University, South Africa, and was Commissioning Editor of the Rhodes Journalism Review. As a Nelson Mandela Scholar, she read for an MA in Gender & Development at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. She can be contacted on sarita@undertherainbow.org.za
