Tarik Nesh-Nash joined OGP in June 2021 as a Senior Regional Coordinator of Africa and the Middle East. He brings diverse backgrounds in technology, law, business, and humanitarian fields with 20+ years of international field experience applied in more than 30 countries in the transparency and citizen participation space.
He has been actively engaged in efforts related to participatory legislation, civic crowdsourcing, data-driven decision-making and open innovation for development.
He has launched a series of social organizations to promote inclusive participatory development including the Center of Excellence for Development, Impact For Development, ICT4Dev Research Center, and GovRight.
Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Arabic, Tarik has previously worked in software development at Microsoft in the United States and China. He has also engaged in Human Rights protection in Iraq with the International Committee of the Red Cross. He has a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Washington and has completed fellowships in the law school of Cornell University and the business school of RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Tarik has received recognition from the UN SDG Solutions Summit and the Ashoka Fellowship.
Tarik is based in Morocco.
