Announcing the 2018 Co-Creation Awards
We are pleased to announce the nine winners of the OGP Trust Fund Participation and Co-creation Awards. Overall, we received thirty-three high quality proposals, making it very difficult for the OGP Trust Fund Council to select the awardees. The Council therefore expanded the award pool to maximize winning proposals and prioritized countries submitting new Action Plans in 2018. The nine winners will facilitate dialogue between government and civil society to develop Action Plans. By joining forces with civil society organizations, the OGP Trust Fund provides them with the support and resources needed to execute a co-creation processCollaboration between government, civil society and other stakeholders (e.g., citizens, academics, private sector) is at the heart of the OGP process. Participating governments must ensure that a dive... that will convene key stakeholders with underrepresented groups to source ideas for more impactful commitments in Action Plans.
The top-quality programs in five countries and four locals (i) demonstrate approaches that go beyond the business-as-usual for government and civil society consultation workshops; (ii) are led by applicants with the institutional capacity and experience to work together with government on open government; (iii) will be implemented in countries and locals with an OGP multi-stakeholder forumRegular dialogue between government and civil society is a core element of OGP participation. It builds trust, promotes joint problem-solving, and empowers civil society to influence the design, imple...; and (iv) are consistent with the World Bank’s governance program in the country. The Application Guidelines released at during the Call for Proposals outline the selection criteria in detail.

In-country, the World Bank team will provide support at the front lines, help convene relevant actors, and link open government with the country’s development priorities. The team will work with the Support Unit’s regional teams who will ensure consistency of the programs with OGP’s Participation and Co-Creation StandardsCollaboration between government, civil society and other stakeholders is at the heart of the OGP process. The Participation and Co-Creation Standards are intended to support this collaboration throug... and processes. Their role is complemented by the OGP Trust Fund Secretariat in the World Bank, who will manage the administration and provide quality assurance and consistency across co-creation awards. The World Bank and the Support Unit will continue to assist all countries and locals in developing and implementing their OGP Action Plans.
