In October 2021, host Stephanie Bluma traveled to Skopje, North Macedonia to meet with open government reformers who had managed to escape Afghanistan just a few months earlier.
Today, she speaks with Erfan Erzaz, one of the activists who have now resettled in Canada. They look back at the country’s history to see if it can provide insight on why democracy fell. They also discuss the contributions of open government work and the lessons we can all learn from Afghanistan’s democratic efforts.
